Dreaming of Jim Bob

Perchance to dream of Arkansas road trip pit stop moth

  • Do you want the name of the moths? Yes, please tell me the moth species. You may write it on the card with your name and address when sending in your moths.

I don't know the name of the moth. Maybe Jim Bob. It was on the restroom window screen at the Interstate rest stop in 2009. I was driving to Ohio from Dallas and the Buick a/c didn't work.

Made styrofoam prints using gray markers and then white block printing ink for the crowd source paper moth art project.

Amorpha juglandis?
So far the facebook page for the moth project shows clear, detailed, linear black and white ink drawings and prints, all drop dead gorgeous. I was having a darker moment when moths were terrifying evil lords of the bathroom in the middle of the night in childhood. Those moths were dark, dusty, shadowy, vague, shape-shifting, and malevolent.

  • Does my moth have to look exactly like the real thing? No, not at all, you may take all the liberty you like.
